ADHD Binge Eating

🦋 ✨ ADHD binge eating is common - but controllable.

If you're struggling with binge eating know that you're not alone and it is possible to stop binge eating. Keep reading.

There are SO many reasons that adults with ADHD struggle with binge eating.

1) Distracted eating: You might think you’re really good at multitasking because of your ADHD & it can literally feel painful to eat without the extra stimulation from distractions. But it disconnects you from your hunger/fullness cues.

2) Seeking stimulation: Food, especially carbs (easy energy), is an easy way to get your brain to dump dopamine.

3) Waiting too long to eat: Not eating for long periods (4+ hours) whether intentional or not can actually trigger a drive to overeat or binge to try make up for the energy missed from skipping meals. Your body doesn’t know when it’s getting food again and it just wants some energy back!

4) Cravings aren’t always a bad thing. Cravings are your body telling you what you’re missing! Head to liveunbreakable.com for a full guide on curbing cravings. Ignoring cravings just sets you up to binge eat when you finally get some food.
